The Permai Polyclinics Group (PPG) is a private primary healthcare, clinical chain headquartered in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. It was founded in 1997. The very first clinic opened for services in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

As the demand for the primary healthcare services continues to grow, more branches have been set up in strategic localities in the State of Sabah to facilitate the needs of the communities at large.

For the very first time, the PPG has, in 2011, made inroads to West Malaysia by establishing a branch in Johore Bahru. The Group has also recently expanded its wings to the East Coast of Sabah with the setup of Permai Polyclinics Lahad Datu. Renovation work is almost complete and is expected to be in operation by June 2012.

Having 22 branches within a period of 14 years, the PPG has currently become the largest polyclinic chain in the State of Sabah. As demand and expectation in primary healthcare increases, in the near and distant future, there is an urgent need for PPG to further improve and strengthen the current healthcare delivery system by branding a consortium of practicing General Practitioners who subscribe collectively to a higher standard of professionalism in the primary healthcare delivery.

OUR OBJECTIVES

  • To provide a Standard and Integrated primary healthcare delivery network to serve to the best interest of the people in the community;
  • To establish a Network for Practicing Physicians to impart and share skills and knowledge in Continuous Professional Development;
  • To establish a Common Brand Name in primary healthcare delivery;
  • To create a Benchmark of Higher Standard and Professionalism in primary healthcare delivery;
  • To provide Opportunity for Career Advancement in primary healthcare;
  • To achieve Group Synergy and Economy of Scale both in the income base and procurement of clinical items.
  • To Safeguard the practice from litigations.
  • To give new doctors a chance to Own Their Practice.
  • To ensure doctors of this Group Practice are Not Bullied or Cowed Down by external factors.
  • To ensure doctors of this Group Practice have Enough Time for Their Own Leisure and not to be bogged down by the practice per se.

OUR GOAL

Our GOAL is to inject an additional 100 clinics and 50 pharmacies into the Permai Polyclinics Group by 2016.

CAREER OPTIONS FOR DOCTORS

There are three (3) career options in our Programme;-

1. As a Permanent Locum

The practicing physician is given a fixed number of hours locum on a per day/ week/ month basis. The doctor gets to take a fixed sum per hour with additional commission.

2. As a Fixed Income Practicing Physician

The practicing physician joins a branch within the PPG as a salaried employee with fixed monthly income and additional commission.

3. As a Self-Enterprising Practicing Physician

The practicing physician joins a branch within the PPG as an entrepreneur, owning the practice. The doctor will be continuously guided by PPG Management, to ensure a striving practice.

AS A SELF-ENTERPRISING PRACTICING PHYSICIAN, THE FOLLOWING IS UNDERTAKEN BY PPG ON BEHALF OF THE DOCTOR

A. Renovation Floor Layout Plan

The PPG will assist the new clinic to appoint a local consultant to prepare the floor layout plan according to the requirements of the Ministry of Health (MOH). The PPG will then submit an application to the MOH for an approval to set up a new clinic based on the floor layout plan prepared by the consultant.

The PPG will ensure that the new clinic will comply with the renovation requirements by the MOH.

B. Tenancy Agreement

The PPG will negotiate and prepare a tenancy agreement for execution with the Landlord of the new clinic premises.

C. Design and Colour Scheme

The PPG will prepare the design and colour scheme of the signboard, logo and wall decorations, both external and interior.

D. Initial Medicines and Medical Equipment

The PPG will give a list of the initial startup medicines, pharmaceutical items and equipment necessary for the opening of the new branch.

E. Computers, Queue System, Clinical Software, Phone Systems, CCTV and Other Equipment

The PPG will source and supply the equipment.

F. Guidance on Management, Book Keeping and Staffing of Clinic Practice

PPG has a standard protocol on the above. The clinic will be taught on its implementation.

G. Methods on Enhancing Clinic Performance and Turnover

PPG will assist the doctor on clinic performance.
