- Dr James Jeremiah completed the MBBS degree from Mysore University, India in April 1984.
- He completed his housemanship at General Hospital, Johor Bahru.
- In 1985, he was posted to Beaufort, Sabah as a Medical Officer in Beaufort Hospital. He served as the Area Health Officer for the districts of Beaufort, Kuala Penyu and Sipitang from 1986 to 1990.
- He got married in 1988 and the couple have three children.
- In 1990, he went on a Government Scholarship to Bangkok to do a Diploma in Tropical Medicine.
- In 1991 he left government service to work in a Private Clinic in Labuan.
- In 1992, he obtained a Diploma in Genitourinary Medicine and in 1993 he obtained a Diploma in Reproductive Medicine.
- In 1993, he worked in a private clinic in Kota Kinabalu.
- In 1997, he founded the Permai Polyclinics Group. Dr James Jeremiah himself is practicing at the Jalan Pantai branch.
- In 2002, he completed his Diploma in Occupational Medicine (LFOM) conducted by the University of Dublin and hence since then has been actively advising companies and individuals on occupational hazards as well as treating patients with occupational related ailments.
- As advisor to the Permai Polyclinics Group, the Permai Polyclinics Group has grown to include branches at Kota Kinabalu, Likas, Lintas, Kuwasa, Beverly, Sepanggar, Putatan, Kingfisher, Tuaran, Penampang, Inanam, Asia City, Papar, Kota Belud, UMS Anjung Siswa, UMS Kg E and 1Borneo.
- Dr James Jeremiah is also a registered member of the Malaysian Medical Council; a Life Member of Malaysia Medical Association; a Senior Member of the College of Physicians Malaysia and an active Member of the Sabah Kidney Foundation since its inception.
